The slogan adopted by our department " First Due Where Franklin Flew" comes from the history books on Ben
Franklin who is said to discover electricity when the kite he was flying was struck by lighting at a place
called Growden Mansion, which is located in Bensalem Township at the intersection of Neshaminy Boulevard and
Neshaminy Valley Drive in the section of town known as Neshaminy Valley. This mansion is located in the first
due area of the Newport Fire Company.
